The Bush Tea Company 'family' came together in 1972 at Calcutta. A penthouse office in Hotel Astor: the wide and immense experience of Mr. Vijay K. Awasty as tea taster and buyer of repute, it was a heady start. The dividends of dedication paid off - the Company earned the Indian Tea Board's award for outstanding export performance in 1974 - the business acquired the Lyons old Tea Warehouse and the office moved its premises to Park Street.

Park Street is the place from where this family business fanned out to become what it is today - one of the leading and most respected Merchant Tea Exporters in business.

Bush has dealt with both Orthodox and CTC tea, right from the beginning. As a result, it has steadily shipped Indian flavoured tea to U. K., Ireland, Germany, U.S.A, Egypt, Japan, amongst other nations as well as earned trust and respect nationally. 

Today, it runs a joint venture with Twinings in India. Besides, its export quality teas in value added forms, flies off the shelves in gourmet stores like the London based Fortnum and Mason, all around the world.

Tea buying, blending, packaging both in bulk and value added forms, warehousing, shipping, market reports and forecasting trends - Bush Tea, prides in its ability to meet its client's needs, however diverse they may be. The company's cherished relationships with major tea producing groups, small groups and single estate owners and the self-owned HACCP and ISO certified Warehouse with de-humidified facilities has made it possible for Bush to handle total tea contracts, both at home and abroad.
